Last week I put up a post about ExploreStatenIsland.com becoming available from a drop list and just today I saw that ExploreNewYorkCity.org is about to become available from a drop list too…

 

I think if used properly, a DOT ORG (.org) can be very effective as you don’t come off as ‘commercial’ and are perceived to be an ‘Organization’ – with ExploreNewYorkCity.org you can create an awesome tourist site/guide to New York City; clearly a destination that has plenty of search volume and related searches such as hotels, restaurants, theaters,  limos/car service, musuems, tours, landmarks, etc., etc.  You can also setup numerous affiliate programs as well.

 

If you’ve got the right resources, SEO knowledge and a good sales team or sales partner – this domain could be perfect as I don’t see travel to New York City ‘disappearing’ in the foreseeable future….
